You're mixing up Nation and Region. You have to create a Nation, and then move into the Daizex Region.
So far, there's me and Xyex. I figured I might be able to have some fun.

On the side bar:

The first choice is your region, click it, and then there should be something that says move to a new region.

Yes, what Zacko said.
As for changing your classification, that's done through the issues over time. You can speed the process up by going into your settings and changing it to 2 per day. But there's only so many of them so if you do that you'll right out of new ones more quickly.
What you start as is determined by the answers you gave in the creation process.

Waaaa! I wanna go swimming!!  Instead I have to go see an academic advisor to tell me how smart I am and that I did reeeeeaaally well on the english entrance exam (it was manditory for anybody entering the university). I'm going into a writing program for poop's sake! Of course I did well on a basic placement test! |

You're not the most modest guy are ya Day?  And you'd actually be suprised about the lack of English skills of some people in programs where it's important. At one of the universities here, if you're in the journalism program, you're not required to take English! Unbelievable. -_- |

If you join, can you make your own flag? Yeah, you can. So long as it looks like a flag they'll allow it, but if it's just a pic of Gohan they'll probably delete it when they see it... maybe. There's an option in your settings somewhere to do this... |
