Punk is not dead. But yet another member of the band that created punk rock has died. As of September 15, 2004, Johnny Ramone of the Ramones has passed on. In case you don't know who the Ramones are, they were a rock quartet from New York City that are known for "inventing" punk rock and popularizing CBGB. They're the band that chanted "HEY HO LETS GO!" in their song "Blitzkrieg Bop." It was Johnny's guitar, known for its "buzz-saw" sound, that helped solidify the Ramones and punk rock's three-chord style. It's a couple days late, but let's take a moment of silence in honor of the great guitarist.
