In an atempt to clean up the board a bit I deleted several users (on 12/9/07) who had no posts. If your account was removed please re-register.
I'm also open to deleting old threads if people think some of the boards themselves are too cluttered.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm crazy about preserving stuffs, which means I'm likely to say no to deletion of old threads. Unless they're archived somewhere.
(Hee, I still haven't deleted some threads where I yelled at a spambot and then locked it... but... I should... since... ... yeah.)

Ok, I know doing a double post is not good, but I want to suggest some things. First of all, the first Index page is too crammed. Maybe we can have a section with "Anime" that is divided into "Anime Randomness", "Naruto", "Dragonball Z" ect. The RPG section looks fine...but empty. I guess you have cleaned it up recently. That's great. But one thing that looks out of place is the language section. Either it can be placed in the "Dragonball" section, or maybe in a separate section called "Anime/Manga and language" where you can discuss different types of language that is used in Anime/Manga. Like in a certain anime they curse more...you can also discuss Japanese there for people that want to, or maybe ask if someone knows what a word means in a different language. Other things... Maybe add more skins? The interface should be more appealing. In the banner competition callyman made a neat banner that could lift the forum's appearance:  Then I want to ask: Shouldn't the Chapel be cleaned out? I think that by now the married members have gotten a divorce or something... Anyhow, apart from my suggestions, a little cleaning up and the site is ready for more action. |

I like that new banner. Get a board skin layout to compliment it, and things'll be looking rather smexy around here in no time.
I also think that there's just too darned many unused sections. They don't have to be deleted, of course, especially if people did indeed ask for them. But perhaps they could stand to be combined or compacted or something.
Like instead of separate boards for music, movies, and vidjamagames, we could have one "Media" board. Or combine FanArt, FanFiction, and Writing into a general "Creativity" board, with the FanDub as a sub-forum. And were the RPG boards ever used at all, or were they just recently cleaned up or something?

Well, I do like the 'All Kinds of Randomness' section basically as-is. That (General through - Image) was the original Daizex Randomness. As for the language section, that was created a while back from a sparked idea on the boards and in chat to actually attempt to be Trek-level geeky and develop working Saiya-jin and Namekian languages. I'm going to leave that as is for a while yet, see if it gets any new life or not, and then maybe remove it completely if not.
When the boards were first made there wasn't the option for sub-boards. Now that there is I've been thinking about moving the Fanfictions board into the Written Randomness board as a sub board. Same for Fan Art into the Image Randomness board. The RPG board just hasn't had any use, despite having been one of the more highly requested additions a few revival attempts ago.
As for themes, I've been working on a few more additions but messing around with hex colors is a pain in the ass so they come along very slowly.
And the Chapel wont be touched. The threads there are permanent.

I think you should be aiming to make it look a bit like GyaRandomnessHo; that place is totally neat- even better than DaizEX, in my opinion... This place is a total clutter, with icons that bring back bad memories of those ancient computers that first came out. And the user information that is displayed (after a post) have massive, rough-edged dragonballs that make it look silly and childish. I lost my way when I first saw this site, a while back! Edit: And is there any way you can get rid of those ads? If we want this place to work, it can't feel like an amateurish freebie website with banners that look as if they've been made in Microsoft Paint. If you don't think the banner I made is good enough, I'm totally up to making a new one. Or we can get someone else to do it. (Sorry for the negativity, Xyex) |

The ads can be removed, but it'll cost... urm... money. *doesn't have E-money* *waves a twenty in front of the computer and says magic words*. Meh, and I just like proboards more than invisionfreak.  |

A better layout would be nice, but I definitely think we should also get rid of some of these extra boards.
I mean, no one uses the RPG boards, despite clamoring for them. And do we really need separate boards for "Writing" and "Fan Fiction"? Ditto with "Images" and "Fan Art". Those two sets of boards should be merged, or the fan works becoming subforums under writing and images. We should probably also do something about the language boards, but I don't know if deleting them entirely would be the right thing to do.
Maybe we should have some kind of vote about whether or not to delete the RPG and language boards?

The Fanart and Fanfiction boards have been moved and are now sub-boards of the Image and Written boards respectively.

(Though, the proboards TOS requires that the board and associated website be in English. I think what the language boards have never violated that, 'course. *looks up* the robots might, but now I'm just being... bored.....  ) |
