I'd really like to make some, but could someone tell me if you have to buy any [expensive?] special equipment to do so?
And also, say you see a scene in a music video you really like, is it possible to make a screencap of that?

If it's something already on your computer all you need is Virtual Dub. Import the file, select the area where the frame is you want, and export image sequence (I don't think it can do just one frame unless you manage to select only one frame).
If it's on DVD I think you need to rip it first....

Ack so sorry I haven't replied sooner... I'm the biggest procastinator in the world. That and a certain other family member has been hogging a certain computer >.> Thanks to Xyex for telling me what to do.... I just got Virtual Dub but I'm gonna be a dumbass now and say I don't know how to import the file, and.... everything else you said...  ...So, I think I'll just forget about trying to do this for now... not that I want to, but I'm confused out of my poor befuddled mind.... "why is Bulma's hair white though?" Good question, I really don't know, but I like her hair like that, personally : ) And thanks for the comments on my avatar. Glad to see other people like it too *smiley* |

Well, I actually wrote a small thing for someone the other day so they could get frames for a .GIF, I'll just post that here too.
Alright, open VDub, go to File > Open Video File. Select the video file you want and click open. Now, find the section of the file you want to export and select it. Just move the indicator to the start of the section you want and mark it with the button down on the bottom near the right end, then move it to the end of the part you want and push the other button to end the selection.
This will darken the section of the bar, that's what's selected. Now, go to File > Save Image Sequence. Name the file in the section marked "Prefix", don't worry about anything else othe than the folder to save to and changing the type to .BMP. And that's it, hit the button and it'll export the frames out.
There ya go.
Alright, I know some of that was obvious stuff, but the person I first wrote that for is entirely computer illiterate.

I think her hair's white because it's supposed to look more like Trunks' hair. Sometimes his hair will be bluish instead of purpley. ;D

heh, sorry for the uber-late response, again.... it took longer than I thought it would to get this right, in fact I only just managed it... ::embarassed::
But I finally got it and I'm happy, so thanks again, I really appreciate it. : D

You're probably right, but now that I look closer to the full-size picture, her hair seems to be a really, really light purple color, instead of white.... ^_^
Who knows, maybe it was just a colorist being creative. = P
