So, as most of you are aware, there's been some talk over on "some other message board" about making a 5-minute AMV of the Goku/Freeza fight. You can get some nice-looking silent clips at DB Arena: dragonballarena.gamesurf.it/english/media/clips/noaudiohq_dbz_freezer.php EX, for very good reasons, would rather not be involved - so the contest will be moved to here. I've taken it upon myself to fund this little contest - I can't send you much (University and all that) but I can throw a DVD or something your way. Of course, if anyone else wants to add to the pot I'm not going to object. The final order of business of who will be judging this contest. I'm thinking Xyex would do well. Perhaps Jersey and BKun too? They seem like wise old sages.  Any thoughts? Anyway, get to video-making! *cracks whip* |

I can try if I want. I've used DB Arena, though I've stayed away from the Freeza clips, as most of em tend to be not the best of quality. Plus, they don't have ALL the clips, eh =D
But this does sound like fun.

I would've entered if I knew the answer of these questions:
Does it have to contain all the clips and be speeded up to fit the 5 min limit or can one do as one wish?

Just to make a good, fight-centered AMV in which after Freeza attacks Namek, it takes about 5 minutes before it blows up. It's a good thing this is taking so long to get 'officially' underway, too, 'cuz I had to start mine over. |

I've started, and restarted. I got about the first 1/3 of the vid done. Right now I'm waiting on some eBay'd DVDs.

I'm still waiting on the other Mods here to give any word whether or not they want to judge. Cat's on board, but there's no sign of the other mods. I'm also waiting on PayPal (eight days to transfer funds? Bullshit!). I wouldn't have to rely on PayPal if any store in Halifax had anything DBZ-related. I'm holding off putting a 'end date' on the contest until I can finalize a prize of some sort, and for a couple more judges (hopefully). As for the prize: I'm thinking Movie 13, and some Hello Kity poptarts. Screw you guys, I love Hello Kitty. You know you watched it too. Yeah it was dubbed. Yeah I was 6. Screw you guys. *cries*

Either something went wrong there, or I'm missing the point  . I refer to the spelling. Well, I've started since I don't like to wait for things to happen. It has taken quite a while. Anyways, if not for the contest then for the fun. The contest is a nice side-effect to my hobby. |

I'm seeing this contest has fallen quite flat. Is anybody even interested in doing it anymore? Or, hell, has anyone even worked on their videos for it since? D: I'd like to see some of this stuff if it hasn't been abandoned... ... Oh well. At least I know that, if I ever get around to getting the Freeza saga on DVD (mmm, boxset), or at least learn how to digitize the version of it I have in VHS, I'll probably be able to do my own version and not be accused of being a copycat. I think I remember somewhat indirectly inspiring the idea anyway... >_> Uhhh. Okay.  ; |
