Gaia's Next Event: NPC Olympics

VO, a head admin at Gaiaonline made this announcement recently:

"Dear Users,

On Friday, August 27th at 6:00pm PST, Gambino's Mansion will be open for all to enter to discuss the upcoming event.

We will be holding the first GAIA Olympic Event starting on Saturday, August 28th at 8:00am PST. This event will be sponsored by Gambino, himself and will last until Sunday, August 29th at 12:00pm PST.

Be sure to join in the fun, show your town spirit by cheering on your favorite NPC's, watch them compete, and get cool prizes in the process!

Hope you see you all there!"

You can bet I'll be proving I have too much time on my hands. I mean, you can bet I'll be there. The Easter, Halloween and Christmas items that you see selling in the marketplace are all items given out on event days like this.

We'll get to see all the NPCs (store ppl) as well as Gambino (who outside events can only be seen in the memorial photos) and his son Gino in their Avatar forms. Usually when you see just one avy it's because they're giving you something! (Gambino is famous for giving you random big chunks of gold. The others will give special items)

In case you live in Eastern time, add 3 hrs to the times mentioned. For those in Central time, add 2 hrs.

Some of you may have noticed that Gaia is down until 3pm PST (6pm EST or 5pm CT). Don't worry about the event being cancelled. They're probably changing the layout of the towns and shopkeepers to look like an Olympic theme like they did for the other events+hollidays.

It's still fucking down!!!

But it was up intermitently. They added some new features that I can't to see! I think Gaia fishing might be up soon!

EDIT: And by "soon" I mean sometime after the Gaia Olympics. Hopefully Gaia will be back up in time for the games to start normally.

They're up now, and with new map areas. 3 at the moment. ^_^ I think you're right about the fising, they've added 3 areas with lots a water, one of which is an actual lake, so, they could be doing it soon. I'm more looking forward to the Casino and the battle system.

THEY'RE RACING THEY'RE RACING!!! Poor Gino is beyond dead last. It's because Gambino had him up making Olympic t-shirts all night instead of letting him rest up before the race.

BTW: I got 3 t-shirts! One of each colour and an extra black one.
