Just in case you didn't already know, in a week from today (June 9th) the GBA will release its "Classic NES Series": 8 games from the, well, classic Nintendo platform. Games include The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Brothers, Excite Bike (yeah!), Donkey Kong (first one I'm going to get), Ice Climber, Bomberman and 2 others I forgot. It will also release a new model of the GBA SP where the bottom looks like a Classic NES controller. Shop around for the games, especially if you're Canadian. Toys R Us is selling them at $25 each.

yea, the new model looks hot. I wanted to buy it + Super Mario Bros; but then again I don't really need 'em....since I could just download the ROMS I want.

Which is illegal. No wonder you didn't sign your name. ;D
BTW: "Xevious" and Pac-Man are the other 2 games.

UPDATE: For those who live in areas where "Future Shop" outlets are accessible, although Future Shop charges $29.99 (Canadian) each, they sell 2 for $39.99.

I picked up Zelda yesterday for $19.99. That's how much they're going for in the States.

Not my fault NIntendo premiered them in the US first. By the way, about how much is $29.99 Canadian in US bucks?

Probably $20-23 the way the two dollars have been going lately. Was the original Zelda amazing? If it is I'll use the 2-for-1 deal at Future Shop as an excuse to get it and Excite Bike. ;D

It's frustrating as hell, and you'll die a thousand times on the overworld before you can find the next level. But yes, it's amazing as hell.
Also, there's maps for that overworld problem. I think I saw one at GameFAQs.

I actually randomly started re-playing Zelda 1 on GC a week or so ago. Breezed through the first quest in three days (coulda done it in two if I didn't have other things to do... 1 day if I had absolutely NOTHING to do). Second quest is a fucking bitch, though. I hate dying in Zelda 1... I think it's for wussies... but man... I think I'm up to a dozen deaths . In the middle of level six, right now.

Second quest, even though it took me forever to find certain levels at first...
Ehh. A thousand is an overstatement, but these types of Zelda games always give me trouble. 3D ones like Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker are much so easier for me that I show off all the time... It doesn't actually take several backflips and your shittiest weapons to defeat a Stalfos, but you can expect me to do it anyway.

I dunno, clunky. Umm, the one already on GBA (forget which one they ported, with the four swords game on it) is decent but nothing will ever beat OoT. That game is the epitome of Zelda. (Note: I've not played WW yet as I have a PS2 and no GC. )

I fucking hated OoT. I thought it was so boring, that I quit playing it three times on two different systems, each time earlier than the previous time. Zelda isn't about bringing stupid masks from person to person. I thought the whole trading thing in "Link's Awakening" was pushing it, but Christ.
Hated OoT, refuse to play "Majora's Mask," and "Wind Waker" bored me after that giant tree level where I got the leaf thing. B-O-R-I-N-G.
1986 forever.

That game was genious! ..... Majora's Mask ...... *Shiver* Semi-good idea, really bad game. The freaking repitition when repeating the days.... ugh! And the fact that it made no sense that some things you did stayed done and others didn't.....

How can you NOT like OoT? That game was genious! Don't get me wrong. I think the story was nice. I think the game looks gorgeous. I just found it to be one of the most unbearable gaming experiences of my life. The only time I can remember being more bored... I can't. It was the most boring thing I've ever experience. I don't know what made it so boring, but I couldn't take it.

I guess we'll just have to chalk it up to Brain Rot then. ;D
Though I do know what you mean in a way... I've encountered games that I have found dull and annoying and that I hated while large numbers of people rave on about how great it is...

That's exactly how I felt about Lufia. Even the part about not knowing why it was so boring, and coming to it like 3 times and still not being able to stand it.
Wasn't that mask trading optional, though? If you don't like it in OoT, don't play Majora's Mask...
Out of those, for me, it's: 1. Ocarina of Time 2. Wind Waker 3. Majora's Mask
Maybe the next GCN Zelda will be more for you? I don't know.

Meri got me one of the "Oracle" games for GBA a while back, and it was like I was in heaven again. I totally forgot that I'm halfway through it, and should really get back to it. I kinda took back up Zelda 1 and forgot about it.
OoT. HATE. Meri actually starte re-playing it the other day. She got jealous of me having fun with MY Zelda games. So I'm watching her play it. I betcha she gets frustrated, too! Hah!

As for the Oracle games, I made it to the final stage of the final boss on BOTH of them, without beating either one, and had to give them back to my friend. I was really serious about playing them both evenly, so that's how it turned out...
You might be interested in the Minish Cap, or whatever it's called, for GBA. Looked pretty cool at E3.

You think YOU guys were frustrated?! I just had the chance to buy all 8 Nes games for $88.88 because it was June 8 (one-day sale). When I go in to the store he says he's not selling them since he has used actual Nes games that nobody buys. When I asked why he had the poster in his window advertising for the sale, he said it's because his store's part of a franchise and he has to do anything that the franchise does. When I asked why he wasn't selling the games like the rest of the franchise was, he told me he'd give me an 8-cent discount on the used Total Recall game if I left him alone.

Gah. I forgot that DK only had 3 levels. I thought it was just so long ago that I simply couldn't REMEMBER more than three levels. I beat the game on my first try in under 2 mins.
