Hello! My first topic is about Saint Seiya! Why? because I think it's a classic along the sides of "Dragon Ball". It originally started as a manga in Weekly Shonen Jump by Masami Kurumada & was made into a 100+ television show by Toei in 1986 (which then later on spawned into the more recent Hades OVAs). Saint Seiya follow the adventures of Pegasus Seiya, Dragon Shiryu, Andromeda Shun, Cygnus Hyoga, Phoenix Ikki, & Saori Kido (reincarnation of the Goddess Athena) as they try to put a stop to evil Pope Arles whom manipulated the Sanctuary (Athena's Domain...I guess) for his own evil deeds. This is about how much I know of the series, since I'm more of a newcomer fan, so correct me if I'm wrong as I've only seen about 20 or episodes of the original TV series & the more recent OVAs. What really got me into the series was its usual "good overcome evil" theme, but I also like how it incorporated alot of the Roman/Greek Mythology in there & the music done by Seiji Yokoyama is simply amazing. It fits the series & its themes perfectly. The voice acting by the original seiyuus are done very well. Toru Furuya does a great & believeable job as Seiya & all the other seiyuus do a great job as well. The opening theme to Saint Seiya, "Pegasus Fantasy"(done by Masaaki Endou & his old band MAKE-UP) is probably the one of the best, most nostalgic anime themes you'll hear period (of course, the 2nd theme is really good too. Soldier Dream by veteran Dragon Ball Z vocalist, Hironobu Kageyama & Broadway). Now that I'm done giving most of the positive aspects of the series & giving my reasons why I like the series I'd like to hear the opinions of the people here. Thanks!
