Last night I got into it with my fiance about this. She claims that Fleetwood Mac is country/rock but moreso country. I say they are like a soft rock and no country at all. What do you guys think of Fleetwood Mac? Keep in mind we generalized all their songs from the 70s up til their break-up (which is sad really).

I'll ask my dad what he thinks, I think he likes that band or something...I on the other hand, heard of em but not the music. Probably have but never knew it was them..ok,over and out!

I agree with you that they are soft rock, not country. If someone says Fleetwood Mac to me, I automatically think "rock band", definitely not "country".

Well, what about Shania Twain and Garth Brooks? A lot of people debate over which category they fall into too.

Same with Dixie Chicks, but I think Garth hit not quite rock and not quite country. Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain landed more in the "Pop" area with a lot of their songs. Granted the Dixie Chicks did remake a Fleetwood Mac song but i don't think that makes Fleetwood Mac country in any way, shape, or form.

I would put Shania as country-rock, no?

I would say country-pop perhaps instead.

But Pop is Britney Spears. Country-pop is Mandy Moore. You can't compare Shania Twain and Mandy Moore.

Hmmmm, you have a point there. Well, I guess she would fall under country-rock going by that logic.
